Naturalbl0g was b0rn in 2oo5 as an experiment to see if I can be funny once a day. All the work contained herein is copywritten, often by the entity from which I stole it.
Wow. This photo totally made my day. I shared it with an officemate, a 2004 Northeastern grad, and it got us talking about another ubiquitous Boston character, The Moaner. (I believe he's known as The Tricycle Guy at some other campuses.)I miss that weird experience that would occur whenever his wail could be heard in the distance. A hush would fall over all pedestrians and the experienced would knowingly smile and move to the side while the uninitiated looked around, bewildered. As he passed, everyone would smile and laugh because it was just so bizarre. That shared witnessed moment of funny public weirdness always seemed to unite strangers on the sidewalk. Isn't it funny that a severly retarded (this is true -- I actually spoke with him once, off the trike) little guy doing such a crazy thing could have that kind of an impact?

Oh, never fear, the moaner still inhabits Faneuil Hall. I smiled almost shed a tear when I heard him, thankful he's still riding that trike.
